Text: Romans 1:14-17
14I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.
15So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.
16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Message
Apostle Paul was a well-educated and an accomplished lawyer in his days. When he became a Christian, he set aside his worldly status to identify with the cross of Christ. In fact, he said that all he had acquired in the world were like dung unto him. This was because he recognized the fact that nothing in this world can be compared with the gospel of Christ. Despite the fact that the people of his days looked down on Christ’s followers, Paul boldly said that he was not ashamed of the gospel.
Some children today who claim to be friends of Jesus are ashamed of the gospel of Christ. They do not talk to their classmates about Christ, neither do they give out gospel literature like tracts, Christian magazines or any other gospel materials to the unsaved. They are ashamed of the cross of Christ. But the Bible says that Jesus despised the shame and endured the cross because of us. If you are truly born again, you have no reason to be ashamed of the gospel of Christ. It is the gospel of life and hope for all people. Rise up and tell your friends about Jesus. Be proud of Jesus. Tell your neighbours about Him. Do not be a secret disciple.

Prayer for today: Lord Jesus, help me never to be ashamed of You because You were never ashamed of me.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
