DCLM Sincere Milk 4 March 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — I Will
Topic: I Will
Text: Mark 1:40-42
40And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
42And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
Key Verse: “And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.” Mark 1:41
Message
The compassionate Lord is always willing not only to cleanse, but also to save. He was going about preaching, saving and healing the sick. There is no need in our lives that He is not willing to meet. The leprosy had been long, together with its pain and shame, but when the leper met the willing Healer, his years of pain, shame and isolation were taken away instantly. What a willing Saviour! But he, the leper, himself was willing to come, to ask. It was a matter of a willing seeker meeting a willing Healer. Jesus says in the Gospel according to Saint John, “…and him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out.” (John 6:37b). The arms of the Lord are wide open to receive, save, deliver, heal and bless whoever willingly comes to Him.

The leper, though rejected, isolated from people around did not allow his bad situation to hinder him from receiving help from the only One who could help him. Leprosy separates the leper from men, while sin separates the sinner from God forever. As Jesus was willing to cleanse the leper then, He is willing today to save the sinner from sin. But, are you ready to repent? Bow down your head in prayer. Tell Him all the bad things you have done, and repent. He will forgive and cleanse you from all sins.

Prayer for today: My Saviour, cleanse me from all my sins and keep me pure in my heart.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
