DCLM Sincere Milk 9 June 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Inseparable Friends

Topic: Inseparable Friends

Text: Psalms 85:10-13

10Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

11Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.

12Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.

13Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.

Key Verse: “Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.” Psalm 85:10

Message

The word “inseparable” simply means; not possible to separate or put apart, always together, very intimate, bound together. Some friends are so close to one another that they are said to be inseparable. Like a conjoined twins who are joined in the chest and share the same organs are not possible to separate medically, so mercy and truth, righteousness and peace cannot be put apart.

Those who receive the truth of the word of God unto salvation always enjoy God’s mercy and forgiveness. Those who live the righteous life through Christ always enjoy His peace in this trouble-ridden world. Jesus is the Truth and Righteousness from God. It is only through Him that we can receive mercy and find peace for our souls. A world that has rejected the truth and shun righteousness cannot know peace.

Mercy and Truth, Righteousness and Peace are four inseparable friends. God has given the truth to open the door to His mercy for you and also given you the grace to live righteously so that you may enjoy His peace.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for giving me the Truth, Help me to know You, live righteously and enjoy Your peace all my days on earth.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
