Text: Hebrews 10:21-25
21And having an high priest over the house of God;
23Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Message
To get things done in life, it is important to follow instructions. Imagine for once a student who failed to read the instructions before attempting to answer his/her examination questions; or a nurse who failed to read the Doctor’s prescription before administering medication to the patient; or a pilot who took charge of a new model aircraft without going through the manual! The consequences in the above scenarios could be disastrous. Following instruction is an important life skill that students must master in everyday life. Success in life depends on adherence to specific instructions in various areas of life.

The same applies to the Christian life. Believers are expected to pay attention to instructions contained in the Bible pertaining to life and godliness. Our text today contains various specific instructions which believers must adhere to. These include (i) sincerity in worship (ii) assurance of faith (iii) heart purity (iv) consistent Christian living (v) charity (vi) good works and (vii) regular attendance at fellowship meetings. Prayer for today: Lord, help me to obey your Word.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
