Text: Romans 6: 12-14
12Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
14For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Key Verse: “Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.” Romans 6:13
Message
Instruments or implements are tools for doing work. One of the commonest instruments is your pen or biro with which you write. They aid in doing work well and fast. Think of how difficult it would have been for you to take down your note without that simple device. It is not generally easy to be righteous or help others to be righteous. After yielding yourself to the Lord in salvation, your body as a whole, now becomes an instrument that God uses to show His righteous nature to the people around you.

When you sin you become like a faulty device. How frustrated do you use to feel when your pen or biro suddenly stopped writing particularly during examination. As instruments submit to the users, so you as a friend of Jesus must willingly obey and do the will of your Saviour. You can imagine how painful in His heart Jesus feels when His friends do evil and sin against Him. Such a friend becomes a useless instrument.
Today, decide to be an instrument of righteousness to God. In words, in thoughts and in actions, be godly and righteous wherever you go.

Prayer for today: I give You my whole body as instrument of righteousness to You, so help me God.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
