Message

Do you know who your grandfather is? Do you know who your grandfather’s grandfather was? Every person has a family tree, which is a way of writing down the names of each person’s parents, going back many generations.

From the record in the family tree of Jesus, we can see some people who were considered to be strangers. They were not in the original family line of God’s chosen people. Yet they had the privilege of being accepted into God’s family tree. This was made possible because of their faith in the only true God. Example of such were Rahab the harlot and Ruth from an idol worshiping nation. They trusted the Lord, forsook their old sinful ways and believed in the Almighty God.

What a great privilege. The same opportunity is open to everyone who would repent of his/her sinful ways, come to Christ for cleansing of his heart and accept Him as personal Saviour and Lord. If you sincerely take this step, Jesus will accept you into His family, your name will be recorded in the family tree of Christ like it happened with the inclusion of Ruth and Rahab in Christ’s family history

Prayer for today: Lord, I surrender unto you, write my name in your Book of life.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
