Text: Isaiah 43:1-7
1But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
3For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
4Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
5Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
6I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;
7Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

Message
An umbrella is a portable device used for protection against rain, snow or sun. An umbrella does not stop the rain, sun or snow but it gives you the confidence to walk in it.
Dave was dropped off at the examination center by his mom in the morning as the cloud was gathering. His mom advised him to pick an umbrella from the boot in case it rained so he could walk confidently through the rain to the car park. When the exam finished, a lot of participants stood at the corridor waiting because it was raining. Dave simply reached out for his umbrella he took with him and walked through the rain without the fear of getting drenched.

As we pass through this present world, there is bound to be trouble, pain, disappointment, sickness … Just name it. These life challenges will normally hold people back like the other participants in Dave’s case. Jesus, the unfailing Umbrella through life’s journey will be there for those who know Him. Those who belong to Jesus will walk confidently through the storms whenever they come. Today is another day to surrender your life to Jesus so He can be with you through any fire.

Prayer for today: Lord, help me to be confident in that You are with me, no matter the storm.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
