Text: Proverbs 4:20-27
20My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
23Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
24Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
25Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
26Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
27Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

Message
The heart is a vital organ of the body. As the central part of the circulatory system, the heart is responsible for pumping blood, supplying oxygen, nutrients and removing metabolic waste such as carbon dioxide from all the tissues in the body. Scientific study reveals that the heart beats around 100,000 times a day, pumping approximately 8 pints of blood throughout the body 24/7. This delivers oxygen and nutrient-rich blood to tissues and organs and carries away waste. If the heart stops, a person cannot survive for long. Staying active and maintaining a healthful diet are two ways to protect the heart.

According to our Bible passage, you are to guard your heart, for out of it are the issues of life. The heart is precious, it needs care and attention. As you guard your heart physically, you need to guard it spiritually by filtering any form of evil thought and making sure that it does not come back. You are to watch what you see, hear and where you go. Abstain from all appearances of evil so that your heart will not be occupied with them. If you have exposed your heart to any form of evil thoughts and ways, you can repent today and ask God to help you guard your heart from all evil and He will do it

Prayer for today: I surrender my heart unto You Lord.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
