TOPIC: LABOUR WITH THE MASTER
TEXT: JOHN 4:34-38
34Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
35Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
36And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
37And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
38I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
MEMORY VERSE: “Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work” (JOHN 4:34).
MESSAGE:
“The decree of death is upon all who have sinned, but the offer of eternal life is available to those who will believe. There is a way of escape. We must go! We must tell,” writes Dr. Prince Guneratnam.
After the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, man lost his place of dominion over God’s creation. Christ came to pay the ultimate price for man’s redemption and reconciliation with God. He finished the work of redemption and gave His disciples a mandate to seek the lost souls.
Jesus is our Master; it is His place to provide salvation, for He came to seek and to save the lost. However, before leaving the world, He committed unto His followers the Great Commission. Like the early disciples, we are co-labourers with Christ. In labouring with Him, we are to be diligent in seeking the salvation of sinners. Our labour involves praying for and reaching out to sinners through literature and tracts, social media evangelism, and personal preaching on one-to-one. If you get involved, your labour will be rewarded both here on earth and in eternity.

CHALLENGE: Pray for and lead the lost to Christ.
PRAYER: Lord, give me the grace to lead the lost to You.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
