DCLM Sincere Milk 7 April 2026 — Lamp To Our Feet
102I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me.
103How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
105NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Message
Our Bible passage compares the word of God to the lamp that gives light. The light that the Bible generates is constant and can never be improved on by any form of advancement in technology. It is the perfect light that guides us, helping us to make good choices and navigate through life. Just like a lamp helps us see when it is dark, the Bible helps us see the right way to go when we are unsure or facing tough situations.
The Bible gives us wisdom and understanding about God’s will. It is more than just stories, it is a guide that shows us how to live in a way that honours God. The more we read, the more we discover God’s plan for our lives. His Word comforts us, gives us strength, and keeps us on the path that leads to eternal life.
To benefit maximally from the Word of God, make sure you have a copy of the complete Bible. Spend quality time each day, to read and meditate on the word. Obey all that it commands and share with others.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, thank You for Your Word. Help me to read, understand, and obey it every day.
FURTHER READING
2 Timothy 3:16-17
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
