Topic: Let Your Words Help And Heal
Text: Romans 12: 9-13
9Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
10Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
11Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
12Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
13Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
Key Verse: “Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;” Romans 12:10
Message
Our words can either help and heal or wound and destroy. Linda lives in the same neighbourhood with some children who attend the same school with her. She was a friendly girl. She had many friends in her neighbourhood and would always invite them to her church programmes. However, there was a particular girl Bella, who she had never invited. They thought she was proud. Many of them didn’t know that she was unhappy because the woman she was living with did not treat her well. One day, Linda approached the girl and greeted her. Linda asked her why she usually would not join other children to play, and the girl said that her guardian would not allow her to do so. They became friends from that day.

One evening, Linda visited Bella in her house and asked the girl’s guardian if she could sometimes come to play with Bella. The woman said ‘Yes’. After a while, Linda told the woman she wanted Bella to attend a special children programme in her church. The woman agreed to release Bella because Linda had always been polite. Linda told Bella that Jesus loves her and she also loves her. The girl could hardly believe her ears – she had never heard anyone say that she was loved. She attended the programme and her life and attitude changed for the better after that; Linda’s kind words brought help and healing to Bella because she was also a friend of Jesus. Let your words bring people to Jesus for help and healing.

Prayer for today: God, please fill my heart and mouth with kind healing words for everyone.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
