DCLM Sincere Milk 3 March 2023 — Love as God loves
DCLM Sincere Milk 3 March 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Love as God loves
TOPIC: LOVE AS GOD LOVES
TEXT: 1 John 4:6-11
7Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
Key Verse: “Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.” 1John 4:11
MESSAGE:
Love is an inner feeling of deep affection for somebody or something. The greatest power known to man is that of love. Love is the universal language of man and animal alike. Scientific studies have shown that love causes our body to release hormones that make us feel good and bring out specific, positive reactions in us.
The greatest expression of love is God’s love for humanity. This love brought His redemption to us through Jesus Christ. In Jesus, God has restored all things that were lost in the Garden of Eden. The sin of Adam separated us from God, but the death of Jesus Christ restores us to God and all His provisions. God’s love is so different from our love. God always shows love toward us, for He is love. God can never stop loving. It is in His very nature to love. We need to accept God’s love into our lives so that we can love as He does.
Let God fill you with His love. Ask Him to help you love people and see them through His eyes. As we continue to walk with Jesus and choose to respond with love, the more God’s love grows in us.
The best way to show the love of God is to tell sinners about God’s love and salvation through the blood of Jesus. Show them how they can be free from sin and become children of God. You can love by being kind and generous to people. Learn to give, just as God gave us Jesus. Choose today to love in God’s way.

PRAYER: O God, teach me to show love like You.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
