DCLM Sincere Milk 23 July 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Love In Sharing
Topic: Love In Sharing.
Text: Acts 2:41-47
42And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
44And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
Key Verse: “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,” Acts 2:46.
Message
Wilson’s parents were very poor and could only afford a square meal every day. He goes to school on empty stomach, his school
uniform was also torn. Because of his condition, his classmates always made jest of him. During the break time while others were having their lunch, Wilson would sit under a tree and be crying because he had no food to eat. One day as he was crying, Gabriel came to him to ask why he was crying. Immediately Gabriel shared his food with him and promised to always bring food for him to eat every day. He also begged his mom to allow him give some of his school uniform to Wilson as he had extra.
This act of kindness melted the heart of Wilson to ask him if he was an angel. This show of kindness by Gabriel in our story is what you should be doing. Be kind and always be willing to share what you have with the needy. In our text, we see how the believers in the early church showed acts of kindness to one another to the point of selling what they had to give the money to those that needed help. You can give that cloth or shoes that you no longer use to those that need them, you can donate your belongings to help those that are homeless in refugee camps and orphanages, you can give food to the hungry and water to the thirsty. Don’t be stingy, learn to give because there is love in sharing.

Prayer for today: Helpme Lord, from today to always show kindness to others especially the needy.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
