DCLM Higher Everyday 4 June 2023 — Love Not The World
DCLM Higher Everyday 4 June 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — He Also Wants You Healed
Topic: He Also Wants You Healed
Text: John 5:1-9
1After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
Key Verse: “When Jesus saw him lie and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, wilt thou be made whole”(John 5:6).
Message
Good health is a state of complete wellness; physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. Interestingly, the word of God captures precious promises for our health and healings – spirit, soul, and body, regardless of the nature, source, and degree of the ailment. Healing is God’s will for us as His children.
Today, many youngsters go about sad, sick, stigmatized and in pains as seen in our text of focus. With men, the health challenge of the man with infirmity was incurable. His hope of healing almost gone. There was no one to lend a hand of love and care. When you go through health challenges, the question is, where do you place your faith and confidence? Jesus is always touched with the feelings of our infirmities.
In our Bible text, by His spoken word to the impotent man, his thirty-eight year lingering infirmity was completely removed. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8), He also wants you healed. However, you need to connect to His healing power through absolute faith, as you make your request known unto Him in prayers.
Quote: He also wants you healed
Challenge: No sickness is above the supernatural power of God.
Prayer for today: Lord, heal me and make me completely whole.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
