Text: Joshua 6:13-16
13And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rereward came after the ark of the LORD, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
14And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days.
15And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.
16And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.

Message
The Christian Life is a life of warfare, but every act of obedience to Christ, every act of self-denial for His sake, every trial endured, every victory gained over temptation, is a step in the march to the final victory. This beautiful lyrics of a song in the Gospel Hymns and Songs capture what Jesus has done to secure victory for us.

According to our Bible passage, Joshua commanded all children of Israel to march around the wall of Jericho once every day for seven days and on the seventh day, they should march round seven times and shout and the wall of Jericho would fall down flat. They did as they were instructed and the wall of Jericho fell down flat.
Obedience brings a blessing; in order to march to victory, you have a duty to obey the word of God.

Prayer for today: Lord, with You on my side, I am sure of marching on to victory.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
