DCLM Higher Everyday 21 July 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiMarvels of God’s Might

Topic: Marvels of God’s Might

Text: Isaiah 40:25-31

25To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.

26Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.

27Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?

28Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

29He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

30Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

31But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Key Verse: “Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth” (Isaiah40:26).

Message

Do you wonder at the humongous amount and quality of inovations from the world of science, technology and engineering? Is artificial intelligence (robotics) a marvel to you? Then think of God’s might! One’s might is one’s ability to perform a task. It shows one’s strength and power. In our Bible text, God asks a pertinent question,‘To whom will ye liken me, or shall I be equal?” God’s might is matchless. There is no man on earth who is as powerful as God. He that created the heavens and the earth knows no impossibility. His intelligence, strength and might never fail. This is a marvel. The scriptures say that the youths who are generally strong can become weak and faint, but God has all-time strength and power.

As a Christian youth, except you tap into the might of God, you will fail and be unable to excellently accomplish any physical or spiritual task.  To tap into the might of God, you need the new birth experience through Christ. Paul, the apostle testified saying, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13).

Quote: God’s might is matchless.

Challenge: God strengthens those who depend on Him.

Prayer for today: Dear Lord, give me strength to do exploits, daily.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
