Topic: More Blessed To Give
Text: Acts 20:32-35
32And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
33I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel.
34Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.
35I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
Key Verse: “ … and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35
Message
When do you think you are blessed or favoured? When receive a gift, help and care from people, or when give what you have to help others? It is often said:
“When you give you lose, but when you receive, you gain.” This is not true in the spiritual, giving leads to gain according to God’s word. If you truly believe the words of the Lord Jesus, that there is more blessing when you give than when you receive, then you would not always feel reluctant to give or share what you have with others. Generally it is not in human nature to give. The most generous person is still very selfish within. He gives out of his abundance. He gives when it is convenient for him. But giving that receives the blessing of God is sacrificial. While humans are deceived to think that they have more by keeping to themselves what they have, Jesus says they would rather have received and have more if they have, cheerfully, shared with or give to others.
You don’t give because you think you don’t have. But you have, start from the little you have. Avoid making excuses today. You have so much to give. Today, someone will need your forgiveness, care, help, encouragement, comfort, patience, love and somebody will even need the gospel. Give willingly to all. This is the only way to receive and enjoy God’s blessings.

Prayer for today: Lord, help me to give to others willingly and cheerfully.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
