Topic: On Your Mark!
Text: Amos 4: 11-13
12Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.
13For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.
Key Verse: “Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.” Amos 4:12
Message
Athletes are used to the phrase “On your mark”. It is used as a command to tell runners to get into position for the start of a race. Anytime they hear this phrase, they know it is time to get ready to run and will not allow any distraction. What follows this command is “Get ready, go”. Any athlete that misses this or slows down may not catch up and may miss the prize.
Believers are like athletes who are running a race to heaven. Eternity is near, the rapture, which is catching up of prepared believers to meet Jesus Christ in the sky, will soon happen. The stage we are now is “On your mark, get ready”. What happens next is “Go”. Unfortunately, sinners and careless believers are not ready for the coming of our Lord Jesus. Some believers are distracted by the things of this world and are no longer conscious of the fact that the things that are happening around us are pointing to the end.
The Bible warns us of the soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please, be ready for the rapture. Be watchful and prayerful so that Jesus’ coming will not meet you unaware.

Prayer for today: God, please, keep me worthy and ready for the coming of my Lord Jesus
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
