DCLM Sincere Milk 8 May 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Path to Blessings
Topic: Path to Blessings
Text: Psalm 119:49-56
49ZAIN. Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope.
50This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.
51The proud have had me greatly in derision: yet have I not declined from thy law.
52I remembered thy judgments of old, O LORD; and have comforted myself.
53Horror hath taken hold upon me because of the wicked that forsake thy law.
54Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.
55I have remembered thy name, O LORD, in the night, and have kept thy law.
56This I had, because I kept thy precepts.
Key Verse: “Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope.” Psalm 119:49
Message
There is one word that appears three times in our Bible passage, that word is REMEMBER. The first remember refers to God while the second and third refer to man (you). The combination of God with that of man (human) determines the path to blessings. The psalmist prayed that God should remember His word, that is His promises to him because he put his hope on them. Great prayer indeed! The word of God says we should put Him in remembrance, plead and declare the reasons He should perform wonders in our life. This is the path of divine blessings.

The second use of the word, remember, refers to man which is you in particular. You are called to remember the word of God and the Name of the Lord. Ability to remember grants you great advantage in life remembering the word of God will help you to achieve great success. It is through His word you can get instructions that serve as success principles. Finally, remember God now; great blessings await you as you put to remembrance and obey all that you have read and learnt from God’s word.

Prayer for today: Remember me, O my God, for good.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
