DCLM Sincere Milk 24 March 2026 — Peace Beyond Understanding

DCLM Sincere Milk  24 March 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Peace Beyond Understanding

Topic: Peace Beyond Understanding

Text: Philippians 4: 4-7

4Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

5Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Key Verse: “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7

Message

In Zenski’s country, there was war. All he could hear around him were the sounds of war planes, guns, siren from ambulances and then report of deaths and destruction. He and other children were not allowed to go to school. The markets and shops were closed. He was not even sure of when they will eat their next meal as no one knew when the people, wearing white coats and sharing food from house to house, would come around. Zenski lost his peace; and was afraid.

Peace is freedom from oppression, fear, worry, anxiety, harm, and war, it is not common in this world. Anxiety, worry and fear reside in the hearts of everybody in the world today. The family and the nation we come from do not free us from fear. Many children go about without peace in their hearts. It is not only because of what they hear and see, but also because of what they have done. Your sins steal your peace.

The peace of God or the peace that God gives is the type of peace the people of this world cannot understand. For how can they understand when they see a fellow human, a child of God, living in the same troublous world yet happy, rejoicing and free from all worry, anxiety and fear; sleeping well and remaining calm in the midst of terror and danger. Freedom from sin and hope for heaven give peace. Faith in God and in His divine ability to save from all evils give peace. Jesus is the Prince of peace. Surrender your life to Him so that He can give peace that is beyond what the people of this world can understand.

Prayer for today: Lord, grant me the peace that overcomes all the troubles of this evil world.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
