DCLM Higher Everyday 23 October 2022 — Position yourself for promotion
DCLM Higher Everyday 23 October 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Position yourself for promotion
TOPIC: POSITION YOURSELF FOR PROMOTION
TEXT: PSALM 75:4-7
4I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:
5Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.
6For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
7But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
MEMORY VERSE: “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another” (PSALM 75:6-7).
MESSAGE:
To be positioned for promotion means a lot of things including: studying and acquiring skills, being prepared for opportunities and diligence.
In 2014, a 7 year old girl, Fathia Dele Rasheed, was photographed doing her school homework in the evening, using the lights at the ATM gallery of a bank in Ondo Town, Nigeria. Inspired by her determination, the bank traced her to her home and she was awarded a full scholarship to cover her education in Nigeria up to the university level.
The Bible is clear that promotion comes from God, not man. However, man has a role to play. Other traits that define people who gain promotion include: godliness, faithfulness, obedience, and determination to succeed. Based on these traits, God promoted people like Joseph, Abraham, Moses, Daniel, Solomon and Apostle Paul.

My friend, would you say that you are positioning yourself for future advancement? It might be promotion in school, office or personal inventions and creative works. Your service or products will announce you to the world. God is also looking for youths for future leadership roles in His vineyard.
QUOTE: God promoted people like Joseph.
CHALLENGE: God does not aid the sluggard or indolent.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, promote me as I serve You diligently, in Jesus’ name.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
