Topic: Pray For National Healing

Text: 2 Chronicles 7:14

14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Key Verse: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).

Message

Franklin Graham in one of his prayers for national healing said “In the face of national challenges, let us recognize the transformative power of prayer. It is through our collective cries to God that healing begins, paving the way for unity, understanding and restoration.” Prayer indeed is a potent tool given by God to every believer including youth to cause the divinity to intervene in the state of affairs of nations. Daniel and a few others discovered the effectiveness of prayer as a mighty arsenal for national cleansing.

As a believer, you have this weapon at your disposal to effect the anticipated national rebirth that we are all yearning for. So instead of joining the bandwagons to complain and lament at the present state of events why not answer the clarion call today to seek God’s intervention in the affairs of our nation. It was Billy Graham that said, “To get nations back on their feet, we must first get down on our knees.” If you are a born again youth you need to arise and stand in the gap for your land.

Quote: Stand in the gap for your land

Challenge: Seek God on behalf of your nation.

Prayer for today: Lord, in your wrath remember mercy and heal our land.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
