Text: Revelation 3:14-18
14And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

Message
There are boys and girls out there who have all their desires and needs in abundance and as such do not appear to lack anything. They derive happiness in things their parents have acquired and accumulated ranging from toys, clothes, shoes, i-phones, good food, lovely houses, cars, luxurious vacations and lots of comfort that money can afford. As such, quite a number of them see the Gospel of the Lord Jesus as unnecessary.

However, there is an emptiness in their lives that only Jesus can fill. That is why, in spite of the wealth and influence around them, quite a number of them still feel empty. If you have been saved, pray for the salvation of others. It is only in Jesus that you have joy and lasting peace in addition to numerous other blessings. Whilst having riches is not bad in itself, putting one’s hope and trust in it alone without Christ is vanity.
Pray that: (i) God will touch the hearts of those children who put all their hopes and dreams on riches to yearn for Christ. (ii) that such children will realise that they can do nothing without God.
(iii) God will deliver them from pride, over confidence and self-sufficiency.
(iv) these categories of children will realise that their souls are more precious than the whole world.

Prayer for today: Oh Lord, let your mercy reach out to convince the rich of their need of salvation.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
