Topic: Pray Without Ceasing Series -Part 7 (Prayer for presidents and political leaders)
Text: 1 Timothy 2:1-5
1I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
3For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Message
God calls us to pray for our leaders in the community, school, heads of government and political office holders. Without the government or leaders, there would be chaos and disregard for the law of the nation. So, government is good and designed by God.

Prayer that is according to the will of God will have positive effect in our nation, then we shall enjoy peace and prosperity. Pray that:
1. God will put His fear in the hearts of those in position of authority because the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
2. Our leaders will be filled with God’s wisdom that will enable them to rule well and do what is right and pleasing to God.
3. The heart of our leaders will be filled with compassion to make policies that will benefit the masses.
4. Leaders will have desire to live a righteous life, promote righteousness and peace in the Land.
5. Leaders will execute righteous judgments.
6. Government at all levels will shun corrupt practices and discharge their duties in the right way.
7. Our country, states, regions, cities, councils, countries will experience peace and prosperity.
8. God will protect and keep our leaders safe from all harms. expect the power and glory of God to descend upon you.

Prayer for today: Lord, hear and answer our prayers.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
