Text: Matthew 24:30-33
30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
32Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Message
Eunice was a few months old when her father travelled abroad. Her mother kept promising her that one day her father would return. Eunice would shrug her shoulders, querying the mother, “Mom, When? You have been saying this since when I was a baby.” Yet, Eunice, filled with joy and excitement, kept expecting. Sometimes, Eunice would be completely taken away by her school homework and the celebrations around her and completely forgot about her father’s home coming.

Many people, including children, do not take the preaching about the second coming of Jesus to this world serious. This is shown by the way they behave. Jesus in our Bible passage says that, He will come back. Unlike His first coming that many were not aware of or concerned about, His second coming will concern everyone living on earth.
Nobody; kings, rich adults or children will be able to ignore Him. The whole world will tremble at His coming. Are you prepared for His return. You must prepare by surrendering your life to Jesus, live a holy life, watch, pray and always expect His coming.

Prayer for today: Lord, please help me to be adequately prepared for Your soon return.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
