DCLM Sincere Milk  26 November 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiPrepared Or Not Prepared

Topic: Prepared Or Not Prepared

Text: 1 Thessalonians 5:22-24

22Abstain from all appearance of evil.

23And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Key Verse: “… and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23b

Message

At exactly 9.00 a.m., the door swung open, and Mr. John entered to conduct the impromptu (unplanned) test, just as he had promised, without regard for whether the entire class was prepared or not. He had told the class several weeks before to prepare for the test, which he said would be impromptu and would take place before the end of the term. After a few weeks, many of the students assumed Mr. John had forgotten and would not conduct the test again. Except for Tella who was prepared, everyone else failed.

Whether or not everyone is prepared, Jesus will come anytime from now to take His friends to heaven. The next event in God’s plan for this world is the rapture, which is the catching up of the righteous believers to meet Jesus in the air. Are you prepared? Have you stopped telling lies, fighting, stealing, and doing other bad things? If not, repent RIGHT NOW. Do only what pleases God. If you are the only one in your class, stand for Jesus and righteousness. Remember to warn sinners and tell them that Jesus is coming soon and He is ready to save them.

Prayer for today: Dear Father, please make my heart pure, help me to always obey You and be prepared for the rapture.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
