DCLM Daily Manna 23 September 2025 — Resolving Conflicts

DCLM Daily Manna 23 September 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Resolving Conflicts

TOPIC: Resolving Conflicts (DCLM Daily Manna 23 September 2025)

KEY VERSE: “For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you” (1 Corinthians 1:11).

TEXT: 1 Corinthians 1:10-17 (KJV)

10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; 15Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.

16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.

17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

Healthy relationships are not conflict-free, whether in the church, at home, or where we work. They come in the form of divisions, differences, and distractions. They are not inevitable. What should be done as they arise is that we do not allow them to fester by sweeping them under the carpet. We must acknowledge their reality and move wisely and decisively to tame the irritants so they do not destroy the vision and mission of the relationship.

The household of Chloe, a faithful Christian sister in Corinth, had come across disturbing contentions among fellow believers. The assembly was wracked by disunity unbecoming of the body of Christ. Camps were building up, not in the name of Christ, but on loyalties to leaders. These were rearing their heads to tear the church apart. This was promptly reported to Apostle Paul, who wasted no time to intervene, charging them that “ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you.”

There should be no question of not wanting to rock the boat when conflicts arise in God’s household. Those who learn of such problems must not keep mute in the interest of peace or attempt not to escalate a tense atmosphere. It must get to the leaders’ attention, who must depend on the Spirit of God for guidance to put things right to the glory of the Lord, without partisanship.

Christ says His church is undivided, as the Father, He and the Holy Spirit are undivided. He wants us to maintain this bond among the brethren and resist any satanic move, subtle and open, to break up our unity. Our leaders and we must boldly confront issues and persons that promote discord so that we do not create cracks through which the enemy can attack us. If, on the other hand, you are fond of such practices, you must pray for grace to overcome causing division in the household of faith.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Move fast against conflicts before they inflict fatal harm.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
