Topic: Say No To Laziness

Text: Proverbs 6:9-11

9How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?

10Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

11So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.

Key Verse: “How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?” Proverbs 6:9

Message

It is good to have a positive attitude to work. Do not allow laziness to take over your life because it will destroy your dreams and desire for a successful life. Many children postpone what they can do today till tomorrow or a later day. The opportunity of the later day may not come, it may also sometimes not be convenient. Be diligent with your studies, house chores, Daily Bible Reading and other assignments given to you. The ant though a very tiny creature, is very hardworking and does not need to be guided/ reminded every time. Be like the ant – diligent, focused and tireless so that you can make impact on your life and the future generation.

Laziness or procrastination (postponing what you can do today/now till a later day/time), is a thief of time. It robs you of making progress and limits your achievements. You must rise up, shake off laziness and get going. There is a lot for you to achieve and you will make it if you are committed to it. Now is the time to “wake up”.

Prayer for today: Father, please, help me to shun laziness and embrace hard work so that I can have good success.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
