Topic: Search For Fervent Servants
Text: Romans 12:9 -13
9Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
10Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
11Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
12Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
13Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
Key Verse: Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord” (Romans 12:11).
Message
Believers are saved to serve. Anyone who professes to be born again will have a burning desire to serve the Lord. Our two-fold service that are imperative include soul-wining (preaching the gospel to the sinners) and taking part at least in one of the various ministries in the church (singing, ushering, teaching, prayer, media, and security).

Fervency involves enthusiasm, conviction, and persistence. An idle, slothful or lethargic person can never be Christ’s servant. John Wesley said, “What marvel the devil does not love field preaching! Neither do I; I love a commodious room, a soft cushion, a handsome pulpit. But where is my zeal, if I do not trample all these under foot in order to save one more soul?” There is no agreement between idleness and Christianity. God has much for everyone to accomplish in His vineyard.
As we engage in the service of the Lord, it is expected that we serve Him till the end of our life. Serve at home, school and everywhere. If we labour for Him here faithfully, He will reward us when He comes.
Quote: No agreement between idleness and Christianity
Challenge: Let zeal mark your service for the Master.
Prayer for today: Dear Lord, give me grace to serve you faithfully.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
