TOPIC: SEE GOD AND NOT THE PROBLEM
TEXT: NUMBERS 13:26-32
27 And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.
28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.
29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.
30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.
32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.
Key Verse: “And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it” (Numbers 13:30).
MESSAGE:
As believers, if we look or pay attention to the things that are happening around us, we may find it difficult to trust the promises of God, not to talk of even living by them.
In our Bible passage, Moses sent spies to check out the land God had promised the children of Israel. The spies actually saw obstacles in the land, and they allowed unbelief and fear to rule their hearts.
They forgot the power and past miracles of God among them. They chose to bring an evil report which created fear in the minds of the people of God. However, Caleb, who also saw what others saw, chose to encourage rather than discourage the people.
Children of God should not focus on problems, but focus on opportunities in those problems. No problem is greater than the power of God. As a friend of Jesus, God has promised that He will make you successful in life.
You should always stand on God’s promises and not on the negative news about hunger, pestilence, war and economic hardship. See hope in the midst of hopelessness.
Do not join unbelievers to spread rumours that can weaken people’s faith. Let your words bring comfort and hope to the people around you. See good, speak good and always live a good life to the glory of God.
Prayer: Lord, help me to have a strong faith in You so that I will see opportunities in difficult situations in life.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
