DCLM Sincere Milk 7 August 2024 — Set Apart For God’s Glory
DCLM Sincere Milk 7 August 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Set Apart For God’s Glory
Topic: Set Apart For God’s Glory
Text: Romans 12:1-8
1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
3For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
4For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
5So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
6Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
7Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
8Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
Key Verse: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1
Message
To be set apart means to be chosen by God for a specific purpose to carry out His assignment on earth and to bring light and love into the world. As a Christian, you are chosen to live a life that glorifies God in all that you do and say. Our Bible passage instructs friends of Jesus to present our bodies holy unto the Lord This means that you do not allow any sinful . habit to stain your body for it is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. This means you must watch what you think and say so that it will glorify God.

As friends of Jesus, you are to do all things to the glory of God, whether you are eating or playing or studying or cooking or washing plates or cleaning the house or going to the market or grocery store or running errands for your parents or teachers, you are to do all things to the glory of God. Know that you are set apart for God’s glory and you must glorify God in all you do.

Prayer for today: Lord, I surrender all to you, use me for your own glory.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
