DCLM Higher Everyday 15 April 2025 — Stand In Christ’S Liberty
DCLM Higher Everyday 15 April 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Stand In Christ’S Liberty
Topic: Stand In Christ’S Liberty
Text: Galatians 5:1-13
1Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
2Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
3For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
4Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
5For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
6For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
7Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
8This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.
9A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
10I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
11And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
12I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
13For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
Key Verse: “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage” (Galatians 5:1).
Message
Liberty is a state of being free from slavery, bondage and entanglement in every area -spiritually, physically, socially, and mentally. True liberty comes through God’s grace made available by Christ. A life that is void of liberty is limited and subject to the control of other persons or powers. A youth who lives in sinfulness and evil practices is in bondage to sin and under the control of the devil. Such a youth can only be free by repenting of all sins and turning to Christ for salvation.

A saved youth should stand fast in Christ’s liberty by living a holy life consistently, having a good relationship with God through constant prayers and regular study of His word. He should also be watchful and pray for God’s grace to overcome temptations. He or she should ensure daily self-examination in the mirror of the word of God. What is your spiritual state dear friend? God wants you to be free and it is possible through repentance and accepting Christ as your Lord and Saviour.
Quote: God wants you to be free
Challenge: Jealously guard your Liberty.
Prayer for today: Lord, help me to stand fast in your liberty.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
