Text: John 1:35-39
35Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;
36And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
37And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
38Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?
39He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.

Message
Friendship is a very important aspect of human relationship. No one can exist alone, we need friends to make our life meaningful. However, the type of friends we keep will determine whether we shall experience positive influence or not. However, the best Friend to have is, Jesus Christ. One of the signs of true friendship is closeness and being together all the time. In out Bible passage, Andrew and one other disciple of John were introduced to Jesus. When they met Jesus, they loved Him and desired to be His friend. They followed Jesus to where He was living. As they talked more with Jesus, they loved Him more and decided to pass the night with Him. They must have enjoyed what Jesus was discussing with them. They wanted to hear more, so they stayed overnight.
The greatest thing that can ever happen to anyone in this life is to stay close to Jesus Christ. Knowing Jesus Christ as a friend and personal Saviour brings peace of mind, joy, hope and the confidence to face the future. Andrew, one of the two that followed Jesus home continued with Jesus till the end. How close is your friendship with Jesus? Are you very close to Him? Do you talk with Him in prayer always and allow Him talk with you as you read His word? Will you follow Him to His home in heaven and live with Him forever where there is no sorrow? Then, you need to be closer to Him now.

Prayer for today: Lord Jesus, draw me closer and closer to You and help me to follow You till the end.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
