TOPIC: STRENGTH AND VICTORY

TEXT: JEREMIAH 31:10-14

10 Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.

11 For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.

12 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.

13 Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

14 And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD.

Key Verse: “For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he” (Jeremiah 31:11).

MESSAGE:
To redeem means to regain something in exchange for payment. From the very day that Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating the fruit they were instructed not to eat, man lost his position of authority and dominion originally given to him by God. However, Christ Jesus came to restore man to that original state.

Our text says that God has redeemed Jacob. This redemption is what Christ has done for everyone who is born again. He paid the price to set them free from the bondage of the Devil and sin.

There are different things that people face in their lives because they are in the bondage of sin. The child who is free from that bondage has the power of God in him and cannot be defeated by the forces of the devil anymore.

Such a child is strong because he is empowered by Christ. He has victory over every work of the devil, because he is now a soldier in Jesus’ army. He cannot be defeated, he is always made strong by Christ. God wants born again children to live with this understanding of redemption so that they can be all that He wants them to be.

Are you saved? Have you been redeemed? You can be saved today by repenting and turning away from all sins. Then, you will enjoy the benefits of the redeemed.

Prayer: Lord, bless me with Your salvation and give me victory over all negative circumstances.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
