DCLM Daily Manna 5 October 2024 — Tell Others About Christ
DCLM Daily Manna 5 October 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Tell Others About Christ
Topic: Tell Others About Christ
Text: 2 Timothy 4:1-5
1I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
Key Verse: “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine” (2 Timothy 4:2).
Message
It is funny how we make a lot of effort and show much desire to do great things for God, to prove our faithfulness to His command and to express our commitment to the good of His kingdom. Yet, many of us forget that this will be worthwhile only if it translates into the greatest assignment anyone can render to the Lord, the most rewardable task in heaven, that is, telling others about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

The responsibility of preaching the gospel and pointing sinners to Christ is the greatest task of all believers. This was the point Apostle Paul stressed to Timothy. He handed Timothy a mandatory charge. He called the almighty God and the Lord Jesus Christ as witnesses to his faithfulness in passing the baton to the young preacher.
Timothy had no other option, Paul emphasised, than to preach the gospel whether it was convenient or not. He should patiently reprove sin in people’s lives, rebuke those who remain obstinate, and exhort those who are willing, not to reject Christ. Timothy had to be urgent with the task because a time was coming when people would have no interest in the sound doctrine of God, but flock to preachers who would only tell them what they want to hear. He should be watchful at all times, endure pain, rejection, and suffering, and remain mindful of his vocation as a preacher.
The preaching of the gospel should be our primary assignment. We must be ready always to courageously seize every chance we have to bring the good news of salvation through Christ to people everywhere. Irrespective of how inconvenient to people the truth of our message may seem, we must make it compelling enough that it will be difficult for them to reject this one good news that will last in time and eternity
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Any service that does not bring souls to Christ is a wasted effort.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
