KEY VERSE: “Behold, I am according to thy wish in God’s stead: I also I am formed out of the clay” (Job 33:6)..
TEXT: Job 33:1-7 (KJV)
1Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.
2Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.
3My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.
4The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
5If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.
6Behold, I am according to thy wish in God’s stead: I also am formed out of the clay.
7Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.
DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:
Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a spokesman as “a person who speaks as the representative of another or others, often in a professional capacity.” It cites some of its interchangeable synonyms: mouthpiece, spokesperson, prophet, point person, etc. The sum of the meanings of all these terms is simply that spokespersons cannot arrogate undue authority to themselves. They are chosen by those who want them to speak on their behalf. Such a point person must have all -round knowledge about who or what they stand for and are meant to speak about.

Elihu, a younger friend of the elderly Job, rashly thrust himself on the suffering older man and declared himself as the spokesman for God. Job had said he wanted a conference with the Almighty to table his case. Therefore, after Job’s three other acquaintances failed to convince their friend that he was receiving punishment for his sins, Elihu came forth with claims that he was heaven’s spokesman qualified to interpret Job’s condition. That was youthful pride.
God has chosen believers to be His mouth piece in this generation. We must not praise ourselves, nor wear the toga of holier-than-thou arrogance; neither should we proclaim our own goodness. We do not have the right to ascribe to ourselves what is the absolute prerogative of God. Our words, counsel and speech must be with salt seasoned with grace, and must be unimpeachable, bearing divine weight and wisdom.

This serious responsibility thus requires that we hear from Him and speak about Him truthfully and unashamedly to people, regardless of their estate in life. What comes out of our lips must match the light and life that radiate from our conduct and character. We humbly approach the sinner and warmly present God’s word on the eternal fate and inglorious end of those who are living without Christ. We must speak the right thing about God, His love and compassion and about His blessings that are available to those who put their trust in Him.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
If Christ is our message, self and pride cannot be the outlet.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
