5To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Key Verse: “O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” Psalm 136:1

Message

The above psalm is one of king David’s many psalms (hymns or songs), rendered to God in appreciation of all the good things that He keeps doing for all His people. One phrase runs through all the verses … “For his mercy endureth forever.” Yes, the mercy of God endures from one generation to another of them that hold on to Him. For you to enjoy this mercy, you must continue to praise God morning and night. When you develop the habit of thanking God always, He will never cease to meet your needs of provision, protection and many more. God has made provision of all things for us in naturethe sun by day, moon by night, rain for our crops to grow etc.

David as a young shepherd-boy, learnt this secret early in his life. He saw God in everything surrounding him, even when enemies were against him. He was diligent in all he did and also had a life of humility. This is God’s expectation of you – trust in times of trouble, faith in the midst of trials, humility in the presence of unrelenting enemies. Cultivate the habit of thanking God always and you will live a victorious life.

Prayer for today: God, please give me a heart of gratitude to You always.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
