Text: 3 John 1:1-4
1The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth.
3For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
4I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

Message
A package is usually a collection of items that are put together for a particular purpose. For instance, we have package of stationery, package of toiletries, package of toys and so on. Anytime a package is brought to you, there is a feeling of excitement because some new things are being added to your life for your enjoyment.

The word of God in our Bible passage is a special package for all true friends of Jesus. it is an all-round package. The package has spiritual prosperity, physical prosperity and health. Whosoever has just the physical prosperity without salvation like the rich man in Luke 16:19-31 does not have lasting prosperity. After this world, he will be thrown into everlasting torment. Lazarus on the other hand had spiritual prosperity; his soul had been saved and so he had peace and eternal rest after death but he suffered hardship and sickness while on earth.
The plan of God for His children is all round prosperity – salvation, purity of heart, power through the Holy Ghost and at the end of our earthly journey we shall have eternal rest with Him forever. Your utmost desire and purpose must be to possess this total package. You can achieve that through faith and consistent prayer.

Prayer for today: Dear Father, help me to live to fulfil Your purpose for my life.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
