Text: Psalm 23:1-6
1(A Psalm of David.) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Key Verse: “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.” Psalm 23:1-2
Message
The Oxford dictionary defines pasture as a land covered with grass and other low plants suitable for grazing animals, especially cattle or sheep. In some countries, it is a common practice among cattle rearers to move from place to place in search of green pasture for their cattle. However, for human beings, a pasture means a source of sustenance like a career. This is why people talk about relocating to seek greener pastures.

Irrespective of where we live these days, either in the so-called greener pastures or outside them, there is a global economic problem. This means more money for less commodity. Where then do we turn to when the greener pastures are even failing? Isaiah45:22 gives us the answer “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.”
God is the only One Who provides the pasture that will not fail no matter what is happening in the world. Our text assures us that He is our Shepherd and so we shall not want. To enjoy a sure pasture when all else is dry, you must accept Jesus as your personal Lord today. He did not fail the children of Israel in the wilderness, He didn’t fail the multitude that followed Him in the desert, He will not fail you!

Prayer for today: Dear Father, I look up to you in faith, please supply all my needs from your never failing pasture.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
