DCLM Sincere Milk  29 December 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiThe Big Question

Topic: The Big Question

Text: Job 12:9-13

9Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?

10In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

11Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?

12With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.

13With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.

Key Verse: “In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.” Job 12:10

Message

Do you ever wonder: (i) What do I want to be when I grow up? (ii) What should I do with my life? (iii) What are my dreams? The search for the meaning of life has puzzled people for thousands of years. People want to know why they are here on earth and if they matter. But the truth is focusing on yourself will not reveal the answers. You did not create yourself, therefore you cannot know what you are created for. A mechanical device is an invention of someone. Such a device can never decide on how it should be used. Only the maker or owner’s manual that can tell how to use the mechanical device.

Prayer for today: Lord, I surrender all unto you.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
