Message
Neal A. Maxwell pointed out that, “On the straight and narrow path, there are simply no corners to be cut. Jesus contrasts two routes in our spiritual journey: the broad path, which is simple to follow but leads to destruction, and the narrow path, which requires a deliberate choice and dedication to lead to life. The broad way, appealing to our immediate sensations and worldly desires, offers pleasure, prosperity, and fulfilment regardless of moral boundaries or spiritual beliefs. However, Jesus warns against following this path since it leads to desolation, destruction, and separation from God.

On the contrary, the narrow way demands holiness, daily cross-taking, and devotion to Jesus Christ. It calls for discipline, sacrifice, and endurance, as well as surrendering our own will in favour of the Father’s. Only a few people find this road, which demands a purposeful commitment to put God’s kingdom first. To avoid being misled to the broad way due to the difficulties of the narrow way, we must focus on Jesus, and press on towards God’s upward call in Christ Jesus.
Quote: The narrow way demands holiness
Challenge: What path are you travelling on?
Prayer for today: Dear God, help me to daily walk in the narrow way.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
