Topic: The Code of Conduct
Text: Micah 6:6-9
6Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?
8He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
9The LORD’S voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.
Key Verse: “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” Micah 6:8

God has established a standard of behaviour for Christians. Friends of Jesus must follow God’s requirements in order to live in heaven with Him. You are expected to be truthful, just, and righteous in your daily walk with God. Because God is merciful, you are expected to love God, love others, and show mercy to those around you. Follow God’s word and walk in humility before Him. Jesus demonstrated humility throughout His ministry; His friends must also be humble. The grace of God is available to every believer to abide with God’s given code of conduct.

Prayer for today: Lord, please help me to live my life in accordance with Your expectations so that I can spend eternity with You in heaven.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
