DCLM Sincere Milk 15 January 2024 — The Complete Truth
DCLM Sincere Milk 15 January 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Complete Truth
Topic: The Complete Truth
Text: Revelation 22:16-21
16I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
18For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
20He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
21The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
Key Verse: “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book.” Revelation 22:18
Message
Complete means wholeness, wholesomeness, entire and perfect. The complete truth is the Bible. Everything that the Bible says and instructs us to do is what we need for a good relationship with God and a successful walk here on Earth. This is because the BIBLE is the Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth. Knowing fully well that the Bible is the complete truth, we must preach it as it is and never add our opinions to it or remove a part from it that we don’t like. If you add to the Bible or remove a part from it, it means you’re indirectly telling God that you’re now wiser than His word.

A person can add or subtract from God’s word through unbelief and disobedience. This kind of attitude will attract God’s displeasure and punishment in hell-fire. To avoid this, boys and girls are encouraged to listen attentively to God’s Word, read it everyday, meditate on its messages, believe its commandments and instructions, act on the word, and share with others. This is the way to partake in God’s blessings.

Prayer for today: Father, give me the grace to always take Your word as it is and not yield to the temptation of wanting to add or subtract from it.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
