DCLM Sincere Milk 7 June 2024 — The Declaration Of Faith
DCLM Sincere Milk 7 June 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Declaration Of Faith
Topic: The Declaration Of Faith
Text: Psalm 118:8-17
8It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
9It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.
10All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them.
11They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
12They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
13Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the LORD helped me.
14The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.
15The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
16The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
17I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.
Key Verse: “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.” Psalm 118:17
Message
Another dimension of faith is to declare it with your mouth. It can also be referred to as confession of faith. The Psalmist by the interpretation of the Holy Spirit confessed that he shall not die, but live to declare the works of the Lord. King Hezekiah also rejected the sentence of death and cried to God and his life was preserved. The saints of old lived long because they always declared and confessed the promises of God for their lives. A lot of believers today are still declaring life and refusing untimely death and God is honouring their faith.

You can also benefit from the blessings of God by always confessing that “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD”; even when the sickness is said to be incurable, believe God and continue to confess that you shall not die and God will honour your faith.

Prayer for today: I confess that I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD. Amen
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
