DCLM Sincere Milk 15 January 2023 — The final flight
DCLM Sincere Milk 15 January 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The final flight
TOPIC: THE FINAL FIGHT
TEXT: 1 THESSALONIANS 4:13-18
14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
MEMORY VERSE: “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (1 THESSALONIANS 4:17)

These were the words from the pilot of an aircraft to prepare the passengers to have a successful flight. The period we are in now is known as the church age. This age will end with the rapture of the saints. The word rapture is from the Latin word which means “caught up”. All friends of Jesus will be raptured. The Rapture is the final flight of the children of God. Just as it is in the physical there must be adequate preparation for the final return of our Lord and Saviour. In order to prepare for the rapture, you must be born-again, live a holy life, read your Bible every day and be prayerful. The final flight will soon take off, how ready are you?

PRAYER FOR TODAY: Almighty God, grant me the grace never to miss the final flight at the rapture.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
