DCLM Sincere Milk 2 February 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Grace Of God- Part 3

Topic: The Grace Of God- Part 3

Text: Titus 2:11-14

11For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

13Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

14Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Key Verse: “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;” Titus 2:11,12

Message

“Oh these stains and dirt now make my beautiful dress ugly.” Winifred complained and began to sob. She looked helpless and unhappy about the stains on the dress she wanted to wear to the wedding. It all looked like she would no longer attend her sister’s wedding which she had been looking forward to for a long time. Praise God! Her mother applied detergent to it and washed away all the stains.

Disobedience, unforgiveness, hatred, fighting, telling lies, covetousness and other forms of sin are stains that make the life of every sinful child ugly and dirty. Sin deforms, but the grace of God transforms. Much more than how the detergent removed the dirt and stains on Winifred’s dress, the grace of God washes away all stains of sin, makes us clean within, removes the guilt and ugliness of sin, brings peace to our hearts, gives us access to God, and does much more.

No child should continue with the stains and guilt of sin because grace is available to everyone. Access to grace begins with genuine repentance and faith in Jesus’ blood. To receive grace daily, read your Bible and ask God every day for grace to love and obey Him.

Prayer for today: Dear Father, help me not to take Your grace for granted, but to receive and abide in it.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
