Topic: The Holy Spirit Leads
Text: Romans 8:12-17
12Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Key Verse: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14).
Message
He who leads you determines your destination and he who wants to lead, needs to be led. Despite the confusions all around, the Holy Spirit still leads God’s children. Boyd K. Packer stated, “Seek worthy companions. Attend church faithfully. Never fail daily to seek for help through prayer. And I promise you that the way will be easier and you shall have a composure of mind and a confident attitude toward life and the future. You shall be warned of dangers and shall be guided through the whisperings of the Holy Spirit.”
The Spirit-led life is a life of victory because it constantly combats and overcomes the old ways of the flesh that can seduce the believer. Friend, there is need for willingness to follow His leading. The Holy Spirit leads through His ‘inspired word’ (Psalm 119:105), ‘by enquiry’ (Jeremiah 6:16) and ‘His still small voice’ (Isaiah 30:21) as we sincerely ask Him for guidance. The Holy Spirit still leads in every aspect of life. Learn to seek His leading in all things and you will not falter, stumble or get stuck in life’s journey.

Challenge: Only sons and daughters of God are led of His Spirit.
Prayer for today: Oh Lord, help me to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
