DCLM Sincere Milk  21 January 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiThe Importance Of A Strong Foundation

Topic: The Importance Of A Strong Foundation

Text: Psalm 11:3-7

3If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

4The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD’S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

5The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

6Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

7For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

Key Verse: “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Psalm 11:3

Message

A foundation is the pillar of any building. Every building has a foundation, without foundation the building will collapse. What weakens the foundation? When water from heavy rain, flooding, melting snow and plumbing leaks, saturate the soil around the home, these weaken the load – bearing capacity and the result may be serious damage or collapse of the building.

Spiritual foundations are one of the most important parts of a child’s growing faith. They help to shape and develop his relationship with God. Salvation is the first step in building a solid foundation for our spiritual life. If you are not saved yet, all you need is to sincerely repent, confess your sins to God, ask for forgiveness and cleansing through the blood of Jesus. Ask Jesus to come into your life to be your Saviour, Lord and Master. If the foundation of salvation, holiness and faith in Christ has been destroyed, you still have the opportunity to repent and be restored to Christ.

Prayer for today: Lord, build up my life on the strong foundation in Your word.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
