TOPIC: THE LAKE OF FIRE
TEXT: REVELATION 20:11-15
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
MEMORY VERSE: “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (REVELATION 20:15).
MESSAGE:
When a judge slams the gavel, that wooden hammer, on the desk after the pronouncement of a sentence on a confirmed or guilty criminal, it indicates that there is nothing more. That is the final! The condemned criminal’s fate is sealed and then he or she is confined or cast into the prison.
God is a righteous Judge who has prepared and reserved a “prison” only for the devil and all his servants. The eternal lake of fire was not even made for you or anyone else, but for Satan. However, those who allow the devil to deceive them in rejecting the offer of salvation that brings eternal life, would perish with him.
Youths are expected to realise the importance of being saved from the wrath of God and eternal damnation in the lake of fire by repenting of their sins and accepting Christ as Lord and Saviour of their lives before it becomes late.
Those whose names would be missing in the book of life at the time of judgment would be cast into the lake of fire.
QUOTE: That is the final!
CHALLENGE: Escape for your life.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, please save me from the doom of the lake of fire.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
