DCLM Sincere Milk 2 March 2024 — The Lord Heard and Delivered Me
DCLM Sincere Milk 2 March 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Lord Heard and Delivered Me
Topic: The Lord Heard and Delivered Me
Text: Psalm 34:1-6
1(A Psalm of David, when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed.) I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
3O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
4I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
5They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
6This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
Key Verse: “I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” Psalm 34:4
Message
Most times we read bad news in newspapers, hear them on the radio, television or the internet. Some of these news and events may come through the wicked acts of people, accidents, hatred, disagreements, domestic violence or greed. Innocent people are sometimes victims of these. David had his own share of problems too. Though not reported in any newspapers, he tells in our Bible passage how the Lord delivered him from them all. The Lord surely cares about things that trouble us. He wants to deliver us from them.
As David escaped from the sword of Saul, he found himself in the enemy country. His testimony however is “I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” (Psalm 3:4) There are great and precious promises in the Bible for friends of Jesus. Trust in the Lord at all times. He delivers from sin, sickness and Satan. He is the present Help in times of trouble. He will deliver you as you cry unto Him, and you shall magnify Him.

Prayer for today: Dear Lord, help me to trust in You at all times.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
